They make some of the finest temperament and smoothest Gaited horses you’ll ever ride. He and his family have been perfecting this program for two generations now. You get the best of both worlds. The hearty side of the Azteca, with its beautiful paces and suspended elevated gait, is versatile for so many Equine disciplines and strengths. It is mixed with a couple of different Gaited breeds known for calmness and smoothness and is beginner-friendly yet reliable for serious riders. I have been blessed to own this mare for a few years and use her on the ranch. She is among the best go-to Gaited ranch horses I’ve enjoyed riding. We also use her for beginners and dudes who come to experience the full ranch experience. She is a top pick with her mind, beauty, and confirmation. And yes, we use her on a full-working ranch. This is not one of your gimmick ranches with a boarding facility and a couple of cows in town claiming to do ranch work. This mare knows 12-hour days in the Rockies on a 53,000-acre working ranch. Conquering daily some of the roughest terrain Colorado has to offer. I’ve used her to rope and doctor sick cows out in the pasture. She has a lot of drag and works a rope like they should. We carry 22 bird shots for rattlesnake encounters, and she’s great with gunfire.  She is a great circle horse in the big country—gathering and driving cattle up to 25 miles a day. If you were looking for an endurance horse, look at her. She is great with other horses in the pasture or paddocks. She loads and unloads like one should. Great for the farrier and veterinarian. It is easy to catch and greet you at the gate. She stands to mount and dismount. She has no vices or novices! She’s a horse that will stay broke no matter how long you let her sit. She is one we all strive to have. She is great for the kids as well. She will direct rein or ride her one-handed, as she is very nice in the bridle.
