Description:
“Choice Cut Power,” aka Rip, is a beautiful 5 year-old registered racking horse gelding standing at 15.3h. Rip’s sire, “Cut by the Undertaker”, a Registered Racking Horse (TWHBEA x Standardbred) and is a flat shod speed racking multi-world grand champion. Rips dam, is a double registered TWHBEA and Racking Horse by “Choices First Cut” out of the Jubilee bloodlines, which are known for carrying a quiet disposition. She is also a “Marshall Dillion” granddaughter, known for being flashy and having great motion.
Rip is a smooth ride with a great temperament, and can easily reach 12 mph. He has been shown and has been a consistent winner at all of his shows. He won one World Championship in Flat Shod Pleasure2022 and was the Reserve World Champion in 2023, and was the High Point horse for two consecutive years in the National Racking Horse Association.
Rip started his riding career on trail, has been ridden all over the National Forest through rough country, and has proven to be very sure footed and willing natured. We ride in small groups, large groups and he is happy to ride in any location. He has been out on workdays with chainsaws running, and limbs falling, pulling branches off his back. He will ride out alone, and is happy to ride along the road to the local restaurant for lunch. Rip’s flashy looks and calm demeanor have always drawn attention wherever he goes.
He is an excellent field trial prospect; he has grown up around working dogs, and we have led dogs off his back. He has a nice canter, has a fabulous run-walk and is well mannered in a group.
Rip was successfully started by a 13-year-old using natural horsemanship methods and shown successfully by the same youth rider. He received ground training as a yearling, and was started under light saddle in the middle of his second year. Our training method is a gentle start, we only ride our horses to their physical ability to ensure they are sound and healthy when older. As a result of extensive groundwork, Rip stands quietly for the farrier, clips, crossties, highlines and loads easily. Rip is a friendly horse that gets along well with others in the pasture.
Rip is a confident, quiet, sensible, and fun-to-ride horse. He has lived up to every expectation we have.
