Black Onyx is a 3-year-old registered Tennessee Walking horse gelding, standing at 16 hands tall. He has multiple WGC within his pedigree, some including Coin’s Hard Cash WGC and Jose Jose, noted for great-minded horses and the #1 leading sire’s of pleasure horses in the Tennessee Walking Horse industry.

He’s calm-minded, stays quiet, and very aware of who’s on his back; from our young grandchildren to a field trialer shouting loud demands at his dogs. His ground manners are wonderful. Onyx has the makings of an incredible field trial or trail horse. In the recent snowfall of Kentucky, he pulled our grandchildren on a sled behind him and did wonderfully. Onyx rides great alone, in a pack, leading, in the middle, in the back, and most importantly, he’s content with leaving a pack, he’s not herd bound.

Extensive training/riding in woods, trails, water, ride beside traffic with semi tractor-trailers, cars, fully accustomed to combines, tractors, hay equipment and more. He’s broke to gunfire while on his back or on the ground next to him. Onyx is no stranger to loud noises nor does it phase him. Staying calm and quiet is one of his best traits.

Onyx is evenly tempered and easily trained. He’s recently been trained to jump at our facility and he absolutely LOVES it. He far exceeds our expectations of jumping, our rider with hunter jumping experience uses no hands and he knows exactly what he’s doing.

He has a natural headset and broke to lope. Onyx is easily caught in a stall or pasture. He gets along great with other horses in the field.

Black onyx is UTD on all vaccines, dewormed regularly, vet checked by Dr. O’Brien of Bowling Green, Ky, and has a current Coggins. We’re currently starting to train him to a cart/buggy and will upload videos as they come.

Please note: Buyer is solely responsible for pickup/transportation within TWO weeks of winning bid or a boarding fee will ensue. Our training facility is located in Bowling Green, Kentucky. 10% of the purchase price must be sent to Loid Stables (VIA Venmo or PayPal) as a deposit, immediately following the end of the auction, and then the remaining balance is to be wire transferred on the next business day.
