Blue Velvet is a 14.2 hh, 7-year-old, rocky mountain X, gaited mare. With her stunning color and smooth velvet way, Velvet will turn heads everywhere she goes. Velvet is a nice stout mare with good bones and good feet. Velvet has a sweet, agreeable disposition that makes her very easy to get along with. Velvet is an easy keeper, and she maintains her weight and coat with little effort. Velvet will walk down the trail and can lope easily in the shade of a tree. Velvet is soft in the face, responsive to your leg, stops and backs willingly, and will drop her head and ride collected. Velvet has been used to gather cattle and pony colts and has been exposed to all farm animals, including sheep, goats, turkeys, chickens, hogs, alpacas, dogs, cats, and small children! Velvet is a forward mare that you never have to peddle along. In the arena, down the trail, steep terrain, through the woods, to grandmother’s house, water crossings, in the mud; Velvet will go where you go! But wait, that’s not all! Velvet has given children as young as two rides on a lead line around the yard. Velvet stands well for grooming, saddling, farrier work, fly spray, veterinary appointments, mounting, and dismounting. Velvet ties, ground ties, and loads/unloads out of trailers big and small. Velvet has been high-lined on overnight camping trips. Velvet gets along with anything and everything from mares, geldings, mules, and mini horses. Velvet has worked with tarps, barrels, ropes, etc., and handles anything we have asked of her with no resistance. Velvet is a versatile mare. Whether you are in the arena, on the trail, or have a job to do, Velvet will be ready for it all. We welcome visits and inquiries. We are happy to take serious bidders for a ride.
