Stella is a 6-year-old Dapple Grey Tennessee Walking Mare standing right at 15.2 Hands Tall, she has been used as a trail horse her entire life. Her previous owners let children & inexperienced riders trail ride her in the mountains of Eastern Kentucky, they had owned her since she was a weanling & due to children growing interested in showing and racing Standardbred horses, their pleasure horses were no longer being used. Stella is a true gem, the all-around horse that is about impossible to find anymore, she is not a spooky or nervous horse.
This gal is easy to control & we believe anyone with basic knowledge of riding a gaited horse could ride her, she has had very timid riders ride her & she took care of them the best in the trails! Stella absolutely loves treats & lovings from her human friends! Stella has the smoothest gait you can find that is natural you just have to sit there, hold the reins and she will stay in her consistent smooth gait and will walk on a loose rein while trail riding with a simple smooch she will move on out to her running walk gait she will instantly stop with a simple “Woah” or gentle pulling back on the reins. She listens to voice commands and will work off of leg pressure excellent. Stella has been trained with natural horsemanship methods She is a horse that has a head full of sense & eager to learn new things, she doesn’t mind dogs running out from all directions under her legs, carrying flags while being ridden, we have introduced several new things to her & she has adjusted so well! Stella may be a mare but you would never think she was one by her non-mareish attitude, she can be turned out to pasture with other mares, geldings, hauled in a trailer side by side, trail riding in front or behind other horses & she will never pin her ears back, bite or kick out at another horse as you can see in the video we pony a little gelding behind her she had never met before & she didn’t mind him the least bit! Stella doesn’t mind taking baths or getting a haircut to her mane & ears.
