Oakley is a 5-year-old Buckskin Gelding standing right at 15 Hands Tall. Oakley has the complete dream horse package from his stunning appearance, smooth gait, fun to ride, and in-your-pocket typical gelding attitude loving all the attention he can get! We have enjoyed trail riding Oakley. He has been on several group rides in the hills of Southeastern Kentucky. He has also carried the flag at our local horse show! We also have Oakley’s full brother; he’s just a year younger than this gentleman. Oakley is a trail horse deluxe. He has been used from just day rides by himself or a few friends to large group rides with 50+ riders and overnight camping trips.
Oakley is a true once-in-a-lifetime horse; he can be ridden without a bridle, doesn’t mind riding with dogs, and doesn’t mind a gun being shot from his back (we will add videos of gunfire in the coming days!) He can be ridden in the busy downtown; we have also trained him to carry a flag! Oakley takes to new things being introduced to him so naturally and calmly!
Oakley has a smooth gait; he doesn’t mind walking on a loose rein while trail riding; with a simple smooch, he will move on out to his running walk gait he will instantly stop with a “Woah” or gentle pulling back on the reins, He listens to voice commands wonderful! Oakley has been trained with natural horsemanship methods creating a human-animal relationship naturally; he is a horse with so much potential and is eager to learn new things. Oakley doesn’t mind dogs running out from all directions under his legs or carrying flags while being ridden, we have introduced several new things, and he has adjusted so well! I can go on all day telling you all about this amazing horse; he’s the kind that is a true pleasure to ride every time you climb on.
As you can see in his video, Oakley has a ton of patience. He will stand however long you ask him, even if it’s to mount from a mounting block, flapping tarps around him, or bouncing a ball; you say, “Woah,” he knows exactly what to do!
Oakley is a young, healthy horse with his entire life ahead, and he’s already such a good horse; he will make someone a lifetime trail partner!
We have personally trail-ridden Oakley, and you’re more than welcome to meet him and take him on our rugged trails! It doesn’t get too steep or rough. He will cross anywhere you point his head without any hesitation, crossing downed trees cut up, jumping up large embankments, creeks, mud puddles, ditches & the rocky steep terrains that we have here in Southeastern Kentucky while still being sure-footed and takes his time with every step completely trusting the rider to guide the way! We also have ridden along the country roads around our home, where he has encountered just about anything imaginable like farm equipment, other livestock running alongside the road (cows, horses, goats jumping around), dogs running out barking, loud vehicles passing, motorcycles & ATVS. He is well behaved getting a haircut, taking baths, tacking up, loading & unloading in a trailer, and being shod (has four new kegs all around).
We spend time with our horses training them with natural horsemanship methods creating a human-animal relationship with respect and trust from our horses!
* we haven’t seen any bad habits/vice out of her (rearing up, kicking, bucking, biting, barn weaving, cribbing, or barn/buddy sour). These type of issues with horses never makes it to our program!
* Call today and schedule to take this boy on a real trail ride with us. We can leave directly from our barn!
