Duke is a stunning 6-year-old black and white spotted saddle horse. This gelding stands 15.2 hands tall and has a wonderful disposition. Duke has a super smooth, all-natural gait that is comfortable to ride all day long. Duke is strong and athletic. He is friendly, gentle, and personable. Duke also has a one-step lope and will take the correct lead when loping circles in both directions. In addition to all these things, Duke is fearless on the trail. We have ridden him countless miles and have taken him on camping trips. Just this month, we traveled to Arkansas and rode in the Ozark National Forest. He has seen some of the roughest and steepest country we’ve ever ridden. He is tough and will last you all day long on the trail. We’ve crossed deep rivers with him, climbed straight up and down rocky terrain, and rode him on rims where the drop-off was well over 100 feet. He is safe, dependable, sure-footed, and strong. He will ride out alone, with a big group, in the front or in the back. He is patient and steady on the trail, handling even the roughest spots with grace and ease. We’ve ridden Duke into town for lunch, in big crowds, and at horse shows as well. He is completely traffic safe. He doesn’t mind crowds of people or horses, lights, noise, or any hustle and bustle. He is good with guns, tarps, whips, and dragging things. We’ve used him around the farm to check and move cattle, check fences, and other livestock. He is used to dogs, cats, sheep, and goats running around the barn. He loads and hauls wonderfully, stands for the farrier, stands perfectly to be mounted, is quiet and clean in the stall, and gets along well with other horses in the pasture. Duke has been a joy to have around.
