My name is Sarah Bridges, and I live in Aiken, SC. My father’s first mistake was buying me four riding
lessons for my 10th birthday, and I’ve been hooked ever since then. (I am in my 40s now). I grew up
taking riding Hunter/Jumper riding lessons around the southeast, eventually making my way to
Oklahoma State University, where I was one of the inaugural members of their riding team there. I rode
mostly Thoroughbreds and Quarter Horses for a long time. After college, my farrier took me under his wing and took me foxhunting on his Tennessee Walking horses. I was hooked! I sold my quarter horse and bought my first Tennessee Walker. Since then, I have owned a gaited horse of some kind. My
husband and I do not own a farm, so I am forced to board my horse, limiting the number of horses I
can own at one time to only one. While I have dabbled in most equestrian disciplines, I am an amateur rider and enjoy trail riding, fox hunting, and side saddle on my walking horse.
