Hello, my name is Trevor Herd, located in Somerset, KY. I am a board member of the Kentucky Natural Gaited Horse Association. I have been on the board for nine years, as of 2023. I personally breed and raise KNGHA horses to help promote and further our breed. KNGHA is an official new horse breed that went back to breeding to the true characteristics of the gaited horse, similar to the Kentucky Saddler horse, over twenty years ago. KNGHA is the first new KY horse breed in over 40 years, as of 2022, when Gov. Beshears signed an acclamation acknowledging us as so. The University of Kentucky stores the horse’s DNA on file for KNGHA and uses it to further the research of the gaited horses.
My full-time career is in the petroleum industry as a wholesale fuels representative for petroleum products, and bulk lubes, and biodiesel.
