Hello, my name is Madisen Kiernan.
I grew up around horses and was blessed to have some amazing trainers that really jump-started my passion. I grew up riding dressage, hunter jumpers, and show jumping, later doing a 180 and diving into western riding with anything from barrel racing to sorting and reining. I started off training mostly mustangs. In my teenage years, I worked for a competitive endurance trainer with a background in natural horsemanship. Her style, methods and choice of discipline definitely sparked my love of trails and are one of the biggest factors on why our training today focuses so intently on safe trail horses. My best friend and I grew up riding, training, and teaching riding lessons together developed Tried N’ True Horsemanship to create horses that your everyday horse lover can enjoy. Our program consists of exposing all our horses to everything from heavy traffic and hectic town trails to mountain riding out with the wildlife and away from the city, as well as a solid foundation in the area with easy transitions through their gates, nice stops, and softness in the bridle. We try to also incorporate anything from cows to jumping to keep our horses as versatile as possible. We don’t like to leave holes, our horses have been worked with extensively from the ground up, so everyone from the vet to the farrier and whoever rides them finds them easy, safe, and fun to be around. Many of our horses enter our lesson program before they are ready for sale, so safety is always one of our biggest factors. By the time they are ready for their own person, they have already worked with lots of different ages and levels of riders both in and out of the arena. Our horses have been tried and tested so that when they get to you, they are solid all-around citizens ready for you to hop on and enjoy.
