I am a 65 yo. retired teacher who has enjoyed trail riding since 2005. I have owned multiple horses and am the only one that rides in my family. My two sons have always preferred horsepower and rode motor cross instead. I have mainly ridden gaited horses due to the fact they are so smooth, and one can ride for hours and never get sore. I have lived mostly in Texas and did live in Colorado for a few years where I loved riding in mountains on trail. I generally do a lot of ground work /desensitizing with my horses and enjoy experiencing their gained confidence and ability to approach so many different situations and obstacles. I have done some obstacle courses and love the technical part of them. I have not had any formal horse lessons until just recently. I generally ride alone at parks and areas around my home in Texas. I currently have three horses which is a bit too many. So, my goal is to have two and alternate riding them.
