First of all, I’ve got the best 9-5 job here on my Estate working with horses 24/7
They are what I greet in the morning and who I talk to throughout the day
Most people have co workers… I don’t and honestly I wouldn’t have it any other way
I have been working with horses for 25 years .. I work from ground up as I am
The farrier .. the groomer … the caretaker .. the trainer …
I have taken in horses from all over the country as well as out of the country with all sorts of different walks of life with training and some with trauma
I mostly work with the draft breeds that have come to me with all sorts of different needs
After working with horses with such trauma I developed an understanding with each horse I worked with
I learned more from all the horses here then I would have at any lesson barn
I was my own rescue without the tidal I did all I could to help the abused and neglected horses become healthy and then rehabbed them into absolute amazing horses
I now after years of experience working with horses from all sorts of different trainers and with many different situations I now have gained the knowledge and experience I need to start raising babies.
I am proud of who I have become as I now have made a name for myself as I have people who reach out to me looking for horses ( I don’t usually advertise my own I do help people find horses that are a good fit ) I have put a few of my own horses into homes
I am proud to see how happy my horses are with their new owners and then when I have people who come asking for more I feel a sense of accomplishment knowing that I’ve done right by firstly the horse in the best home and then the owners who send me endless pictures and videos of how much they love the horse that I raised.
I now have started raising babies and then putting them into their forever homes
I love seeing how happy my horses are as well as their new owners as I get pictures as well as videos
It says a lot when a person can be the farrier the trainer as well as the caregiver and do it all by themselves
I am not slowing down anytime soon
I love what I do and I hope to be doing this into my 80s
This is my 24/7 job which isn’t for the weak
It takes a very passionate kind patient strong person to do a job such as this ( there are no sick days )
People like me are a rarity and it shows in all my gorgeous horses with everything that we do !!!
