Roger and Leslie Catt, now retired, are helping a friend represent Balou. Our training specialty is creating a horse that is a joy to ride. The horses that we train must be safe, obedient and a joy to ride. When we trained full time a large number of our clients were retirement age riders which meant their horses had to be very reliable. Most horses we trained were for the trail. Others went to the show ring. All horses had a basic dressage foundation.
As a long time horse owner what I value most in a horse is temperament, work ethic, movement, and confirmation. These are the qualities I strive for in my small breeding program. My goal is to raise horses that are versatile, well mannered, and just plain fun to have in the family. When they are ready to begin their riding career, I partner with talented horse people to prepare them for the perfect home for them. A place where they can thrive and bring joy to their people.
