Once Upon a Cattle is our family-run farm nestled in the small town of Brooksville, Florida. What started as a love for animals and the dream of a simpler life has grown into a passion-driven breeding and family farm where every animal is raised with intention, care, and plenty of hands-on attention.
Our family includes Dave, a Wildland Firefighter, Diana, who works in IT, our three teenagers, and Diana’s retired father—whose lifelong love of horses makes him an irreplaceable part of the team. It’s a lot of work balancing careers, family, and farm life, but together, we make it work because this lifestyle is something we truly love.
After raising cattle for over 10 years, we fell in love with traditional breeds for their temperament, versatility, and kind nature. Our philosophy has always been quality over quantity—we keep our breeding program intentional and manageable so each animal gets the individual care, handling, and exposure they deserve.
At Once Upon a Cattle, our animals are not just livestock—they’re family. They’re raised in a busy, interactive environment around adults, children, farm life, visitors, and a wide variety of animals, helping them develop into confident, well-rounded partners.
