Wilson –

13 yo grade bay Quarter horse gelding, 14.3 hands, 1100 lbs

One in a million family horse! Wilson is a safe, confident booster horse that is sure to delight a wide range of riders. Excellent horse for a beginning rider, timid equestrian, a rider coming back from an injury or starting riding after many years out of the saddle, or for the family just looking for an extra mount for guests. This gelding can sit for months and ride off just a flawlessly as when he’s ridden frequently. He is remarkably consistent and dependable. Wilson has excellent ground manners, he catches easily from the pasture, loves to be groomed, flawless for the farrier, my small children can saddle and bridle him and pick his hooves before a ride. Stands tied for hours, no pullback, no pawing. Loads and hauls without any fuss. Wilson can go barefoot or shod, and he has excellent black feet. This seasoned, solid citizen is an excellent trail horse – water crossings, bridges, down timber, bogs, rocky ground; no problem! Ride solo or in a large group. Lead, follow or be in the middle, no problem. Lose your hat or need to stop to adjust your tack, no problems, while the group continues. Wilson is with his rider, not the herd. Around the ranch, every member of our family rides and enjoys this gelding but he is most valued by our less experienced friends and family members. We gather/sort/push hundreds of cattle on him; professional riders and beginners, he does a great job. We have roped on him too. Wilson is unflappable in traffic; semi-trucks, cars, bikes, hikers, just another day for this guy. We also have shot guns from his back and around him on hunting trips. Wilson packs and will absolutely pack out your animal. Blood and fresh kills do not phase him. Wildlife on the trail is well within his comfort zone as well, no spook when you jump up deer, birds fly off the waterways, or you cross paths with big cats. Wilson is also a tried and true 4H lesson and amateurs show horse. He has had professional training in the arena and is easy to ride. Obedient at the walk, trot, and canter, he can easily adjust his stride, helps his rider get the correct lead every time, great whoa, backs and side passes beautifully. Wilson is laid back but not lazy, when he is asked to do sometimes he goes off willingly. Don’t miss an opportunity to own this fabulous gelding!
