The Wicked Will Owe “Willow”

Description:

Willow is a stout black 12-year-old registered Racking horse. She stands a little over 15.2 hands and will easily side up to a mounting block or stump at the snap of a finger. She has a floaty walking horse-type gait and transitions into a rocking chair canter on cue, but is also happy to walk with non-gaited horses all day on a loose rein. She is sound, sane, and sensible. She does not act mareish and is low pecking order in a mixed herd with mares and geldings. She is an easy keeper on quality pasture. She came to us when a mutual friend needed to relocate her on short notice; they had owned her since she was two. Willow has been an absolute pleasure for us to have around and work with! She has been our go-to for friends who want to tag along down a trail or children who come for a ride. Unfortunately, we are shifting towards speed-racking horses and have to make room for those additions; otherwise, Willow would not be available. She has been trail ridden extensively and will cross logs, rivers, bridges, tarps, and whatever else you might come upon with confidence. She rides well with dogs and has not offered to kick. One thing we highly admire about Willow is that she’s very laid-back but still soft and responsive to cues. She will side pass, ground tie, back, and stand hobbled. She understands the basics of neck reining, and with continued implementation, I believe she will polish up on it without any trouble. Willow rides well in groups, front, middle, or back, and doesn’t hesitate to ride off from the barn, trailer, or horses. She stands for farrier and bathing, is easy to load/unload on a trailer, and is gentle to lead and handle.
