Stormy (Rowdy)

Description:

Rowdy is a handsome, 11-year-old Quarter Horse Paint gelding. His background states that he was APHA registered, and his sire was said to be Flying Storm Kite #00200201. ( I do not have current papers on him). He stands 16H tall, and he is an all-around dependable, versatile horse for Western and English riding. He has been consistently used in English riding lessons at our barn for both beginners and intermediate students. He recently jumped 2’ 6” and just started training 3 months ago. He has also been entered in local schooling classes and shows. He is an excellent trail horse and will easily load and unload on the trailer and does not spook easily. He stands to be bathed, tacked up, and for the farrier. He has good ground manners and is always easy to catch in the pasture. He is the perfect family horse suitable for anyone or would be a good husband horse since he is very stocky and muscular. He is also an excellent lesson horse for English riding program and is perfect for heavier or taller riders. He is great with young children riding and does not try to go too fast with beginners, but a child would need adult supervision when grooming and tacking him up due to his size. He does stand easily for mounting.
Rowdy is an easy keeper and is currently pasture boarded with both geldings and mares. However, he needs to be in pasture alone or with other geldings since he has a tendency to mount mares in season in the pasture setting. (He has a current CBC profile and Cryptorchid Panel which showed negative so assume he was gelded late to explain his stallion-like behavior toward mares. He has not harmed any horse but will keep the geldings at a distance from the mares and quickly became the dominant gelding in the pasture. He is currently UTD on Coggins and vaccines, teeth were floated on 1/20/21. The latest Coggins test was drawn on 9/11/21 and results will be available when the results arrive in the mail. He also received all vaccines on 9/11/21 when the vet inspection was completed. The farrier came and reshod his front feet on 9/12/21 (vet remarked overdue for farrier since my farrier had a wreck and had to postpone his appointment) So he now has brand new shoes, and my farrier stated his feet are in good shape. We have had excessive rain and flooding here in the past few weeks so his feet are not prone to problems from wet pastures as some of our horses have experienced. He has never had any health issues in the past year that I have had him. Only well visit vaccines from vet are required. Call Julie to get more information on this gorgeous, versatile horse!
