Southern Style Buttermilk “Sage” is a 15-year-old, 14.2 hand buckskin mare. We purchased sage from Andrew Hendrix just after she turned 2. We trained her over the next year in preparation for the MFTHBA Celebration Bossman Futurity in the versatility arena. Her gait and disposition really showed, and she was Reserve World Champion bringing home over $1,000 in earnings. During her 3 yr old year, we trail rode her all over the Dakotas and Wyoming, where she packed several different riders besides Kristin and me. From the beginning, she was a horse you trusted. We sold Sage when she was 4 to a close friend who had her until this spring when circumstances necessitated her sale. We did not hesitate to get her back, and she is the same sassy girl she always was. Sage is super safe but has a great work ethic. She is set in her gaits and will flat foot, foxtrot, or canter for about anyone. Watch the videos as they speak for themselves. If you want to see anything else, just holler and let us know.

Please note that she does have a calcified scar on her front right foot. This scar was there when we purchased her from Andrew. It happened when she was just a few weeks old when she and her mother were being transported. It has never bothered her.
