He has all the moves, mind, and just the right motor to succeed in any place you put him. He is Mr. Personality and is an easy horse to get along with.
Under western tack, Smarty takes both his leads, has great departures, spins, and a huge stop. He is athletic and cowy, with loads of talent and a solid start. He’s been introduced to roping in the arena and has been used to move cattle, and it’s a lot of fun to go sorting on. He has a great work ethic and a handle that will make him stand out in any arena.
Under English tack, Dressage Queens take note! Smarty really checks so many boxes for what a good dressage (or eventing) horse should be. He is light in the bridle, soft, and responsive. He is forward-thinking and has just the right amount of sensitivity to be competitive at all levels. He has his changes, green, but they are there and have a very good basis of lateral work. This horse loves to work and has a job. He feels so good under you, the type of ride that makes you feel productive in every training session. He has also started over fences and has been super brave on the XC field. He has a great, adjustable stride and plenty of scope.
On the trails, Smarty is happy to be out of the ring and loves to see new things. He crosses water, roads, bridges, and more. We have taken him on lots of off-property schooling trips, trail rides, and clinics. He’s used to loading up and going to new places. Smarty is a good boy to travel with and in a trailer, and is easy to get along with.
In the barn, Smarty is full of personality. He has great ground manners and enjoys being around people. He is happy living inside or out and gets along well with his pasture mates.
