Shiloh is a sweet athletic 4-year-old Spotted Saddle Horse mare. She truly is a dream horse of a lifetime who will provide a wonderful companion to someone for years to come. GENTLE! GENTLE! Standing at 14.2hh, she is calm, soft, quiet, safe, and absolutely gorgeous!
This pretty mare absolutely LOVES human interaction.
Shiloh is very young, but we’ve exposed her to more learning opportunities than a lot of horses ever get that are two and three times her age. She is extremely smart and has learned everything we’ve thrown at her quickly and eagerly.
Some of that exposure/training are:
Ponying and being ponied
Riding bareback
Riding double
Riding with dogs and 4x4s
Crossing rivers, logs, steep uphills, and rocky downhills
Dragging logs and barrels and other objects
Riding in traffic
Self-loading and unloading to/from the trailer
Passing to stand by any mounting object (fences, mounting blocks,
concrete slabs, rocks, stumps, wheel wells, tailgates, water troughs, garbage cans, etc.) She is flat-out awesome!
Whips, tarps, and flapping objects
Mounted gunfire (just started her on this, and she’s doing fine.
Laying down
Shiloh has been ridden all over the hills of Kentucky and the rugged Rocky Mountains of southern Utah. She is sure-footed and knows how to take care of her rider. She will ride anywhere in the pack- front, middle, or back with no issues. She will ride off alone as well. Shiloh has a leisurely walk, a ‘get there’ walk, a nice trot and lope, and a ‘to die for’ silky smooth gait. As you can tell by her video, she loves to show off her pretty little prance when turned out.
Forget about you meeting her at the gate…when she sees you or hears you… she will be standing at the gate before you ever get there. The farrier says she is a ‘perfect lady, and she wears a new pair of shoes (4/7). She stands to be tacked, groomed, and bathed.
Shiloh can be mounted from either side, and she is good around dogs, cows, deer, wild turkeys, and rabbits busting out of the bushes. Desensitized to four-wheelers and farm equipment, she handles like a pro.
Shiloh is on a little ranch in southern Utah with other horses, a mule, and a new momma mare with her newborn filly. She and the little filly have become nose-to-nose buddies. She is up-to-date on her shots and vet exams. She is healthy, fit, and sound…not to mention- absolutely beautiful!
It is VERY important to us that Shiloh goes to a Companion whom she will receive the love, time, and attention that she THRIVES on and deserves. We hope her new family will stay in touch with us with updates, milestones, experiences, and help needed.
