Description:

Truman (Rowdy’s Little Sunrise) is a coming five-year-old Missouri Foxtrotting Pony (MFTHBA, PR16-171, DNA) offered as a partnership between Premier Foxtrotters (Brian, Tara, and Keeli Land, Dora, Missouri) and Fishel Foxtrotters (Evan and Deana Fishel, Marshfield, Missouri).  He is a Gold Papered, dappled dark palomino gelding who stands at approximately 14 hands.

This special golden boy was bred, foaled, and raised by Fishel Foxtrotters in Marshfield, Missouri.  When he made his grand appearance at 3:52 a.m. on May 26, 2016, his imprinting began literally within the first five minutes of his arrival.  Truman’s first years were spent with extensive “hands-on” daily contact and training – 365 days a year – with lots of snuggles, adventures, and fun along the way.

Truman’s formal training with Premier Foxtrotters in Dora, Missouri, started after he turned four.  Truman completed Clinton Anderson’s Downunder Horsemanship Method Training (Fundamental and Intermediate Levels, with some Advanced Level instruction). He has skillfully conquered the rugged trails and pristine waters of the Mark Twain National Forest.

Truman is smoothly gaited and flatfoot walks, foxtrots, and stepping paces.  He side passes, backs, responds to your leg, neck reigns, and has a one-rein stop.  He is exceptionally smart and friendly, very curious, confident, and trusting, essentially unflappable, gentle, and is always willing to please.

And Truman is fearless under saddle!  Truman has been taken to several obstacle courses, and we have not found an obstacle that he will not cross.  He has hundreds of miles of trail experience and rides well leading, in the middle, or at the back of the pack.  When he showed up for his first big trail ride with more than 40 riders, he backed off the trailer and, without lunging or other decompression activities, he just rode off gracefully on a loose rein.

With less than 300 registered Missouri Foxtrotting Ponies in the World (MFTPR, the official registry of the MFTHBA), Truman is the perfect equine partner for the beginning, intermediate or advanced rider – ages 0 to 100.  The difference between our horses and most other horses on the market is the extensive hours spent on groundwork, legitimate trail miles on the toughest of any trails, daily interaction throughout his life, and superior genetics.
