Meet Ripley, an extremely handsome and willing gelding! He is 14.3 hands wears a size 2 shoe and is built like an absolute tank! He is big enough to carry a heavier rider and gentle enough to tote the smaller ones around.

Ripley is extremely gentle on the ground and has excellent manners. He will stand tied, load in a straight load or slant, and back off without a hitch. He travels long distances with no worries. He stands quiet and patient for the farrier and vet, grooming and tacking, and gives no fuss whatsoever. He even has a button on the top of his head you can push, and he will automatically lower his head for the halter or bridle. Ripley is great on trails, obstacles, traffic, and the arena. He is more of a push ride and very much on the slower side. He will, however, gait out smoothly on a loose rein with just a little encouragement and lope off like a dream with just a little more leg. If you prefer a horse that is a little bit more whoa than go, then this is the guy for you! He is a very quick learner and will try hard for you every chance he gets. He can sometimes be a little unsure when exposed to something new, but it is nothing that almost anyone couldn’t push through with him. He has recently come from a 30-day tune-up and is totally ready to hit the trails with all the bells and whistles you don’t get with most horses. He moves off of leg beautifully, sides up to the mounting block (or log or tailgate) to let you mount and dismount, or he will park out and stands perfectly for both. As shown in his video, he can be ridden out alone or in a group without any issues. He is a bit more confident with other horses, though, as I think many horses are. Ripley is not pushy or sour. He wants to listen to his rider and be lead wherever you want to go. He has never offered to buck or rear, and when put in a “scary” situation, he responds to coaching very well. He is friendly with other horses and is in the middle of the herd, pecking order out in the pasture. He is great around farm equipment, dogs, kids, and all manner of things you encounter around a busy boarding facility. This horse is smooth as smooth gets, big, stout, strong, and sound in every way.

Today 08/27/2021, Ripley had a full pre-purchase exam that went off without a hitch. He is in great condition and very healthy. He is due for his yearly teeth and sheath appointment, and the buyer and I can arrange for that to be done before he is off to his new home! Ripley is sweet as pie, gentle, beautiful, and easy to love! He will make someone an excellent trail partner, and beyond no doubt!
