Description:
Rhea is a 10-year-old Paint Mare standing at 15.1 hands tall with a nice stout build. She can easily carry a bigger rider. Rhea is a trail rider’s dream. She is more “whoa than go.” She has an easy-going demeanor. She’s pretty easy to handle and get along with. I would consider her husband or wife safe. You can put someone on that knows how to ride a little and have them follow along with her, and she takes care of them.
She has smooth gaits, too. Her trot is so smooth and easy to sit to that she has fooled more than one person into thinking she was gaited. And she has a nice little rocking chair lope.
Rhea has a pleasant personality, and she’s easy to catch in the pasture. She’s friendly and loves to be around people. When you go out to catch her, she usually will walk right up to you and loves the attention.
She is an easy keeper and needs NO maintenance. She stays at a good weight on just grass or hay. She is middle to low in the pecking order. She gets along with a mixed herd. She will ride away from home alone or in a group.
She is more whoa than go, so she prefers to follow along in the back and stay at her own pace, but she will lead the group as well if you ask her to.
She is great out on the trails, does NOT easily spook. She’s fine with having a doggy friend follow her along out in the woods and doesn’t mind the wildlife.
She will cross bridges, logs, and water. She’s been in creeks, lakes, and rivers. She can handle the big steep hills and banks just fine. She picks her way down a hill very easily and carefully.
She loads in a trailer and backs out fine. She stands well tied for tacking and mounting. She is safe, NO bad habits or vices. She is GREAT with traffic. We have ridden her down the dirt roads with big equipment trucks and other regular traffic going by, and she never blinks an eye.
She is up to date on everything: shots, wormer, farrier, Coggins, and vet check. Just call to set up a time to see her or to ask any questions.
