Raylan was definitely what you call a barn find. He came off a little lady who lived back in the mountains, and Raylan was her pet. I will never forget when we went and looked at him. The lady pulled him out of the stall; Krissy and I both fainted because this big, stout, gorgeous statue of a gelding was in the middle of nowhere. She had carried Raylan all over trail riding in multiple states to hitting the local Christmas parade and never missing her local fun show. She always had her boy with her. Raylan is one of the sweetest boys you will ever be around. He loves attention, and he knows he is pretty. Everything he does is with confidence and that hey, look at me attitude. I promise you one thing you can ride him anywhere, and there will always be someone who will stop you and tell you either he’s beautiful or the prettiest horse they have ever seen. But don’t be fooled; this big hunk isn’t just about looks. He is a ball of fun to ride!! He has a nice slow, smooth gait where he will bob his head along and can set up and move down the road, racking if asked. He is a very fancy mover but still remains smooth throughout. He also has a very smooth rocking chair canter. Raylan will ride out with or without company. Rides anywhere in a group and Is very quiet. He’s not a deadhead but is perfectly content with walking along. He is very easy to catch; he normally will catch you.

Handles the best! He is easy to clip, wash, and groom. Great for the farrier and will stand tied all day. Raylan is great in traffic and safe around livestock and wildlife as well. Phenomenal trail horse that will go up, down, or through anything. He crosses all types of water, fallen trees, and slippery rocks. It doesn’t get too rough for this mountain goat.
