My two small children who are 4 years old & 7 years old have been riding this wonderful mare by themselves & she has assisted in teaching them to ride alone. She will cross logs and water without a second thought, and she takes care of her rider every step of the way. She is sure-footed, traffic safe, and calm around dogs, bicycles, farm equipment, small animals, 4 wheelers and even wildlife. She is the definition of a true mountain horse! She has even carried flags, drug tarps without blinking. Or if you are an avid hunter, take your rifle or pistol & take your game home with you! Whether you’re riding out alone or with a group, she is steady, reliable, and never barn or buddy sour. Pocahontas is broke with a good one-hand neck rein, stops and backs with ease, and moves willingly off leg pressure.
