Major is a very handsome registered 7-year-old Paint gelding. He stands at 16 hands. Major is one of the most gentle and easy-to-ride horses we have ever owned. He is friendly and gentle to anyone, including kids or newer horse owners. He is used to being around many different animals and loves attention from people. He stands to be groomed and bathed and is great for vet and farrier. Everybody loves him.
Major is a very easy-to-ride horse. He is a fun ride for any level rider and will take care of you if you are still learning. He is good with kids too. Major is as safe as a horse can get and has not shown to be afraid of anything we brought to him, such as dogs, cars, tractors, ATVs, tarps, balls, umbrellas, poles, cattle, chainsaws… you name it. He is a very kind, honest, and trusting horse with a great disposition.
Major excels at trail riding. He will go out alone or with others. We have used him here to take out young horses alongside of him who had never been on trails and which we had just started under saddle. He stays calm no matter what. Major will go wherever you point him, across fields with cattle, up and down hills, passing machinery, through water, and down steep ravines without batting an eye.
Major also has a lot of potential in the ring. He has an elegant big flashy stride, and his gaits are comfortable to sit to. His natural low and relaxed headset makes him suitable for any lower-level discipline, western or English, e.g., hunter under saddle. He moves off your leg easily and is willing to go to work.
Major is overall a very respectful and well-behaved horse. He is willing to do anything he is asked. His sweet personality will make him bond easily with his new owner, and he would make a great addition to any family. Major will stand tied all day if you ask him to, and he stands to mount at the mounting block for you to mount from either side.
