Mabel’s Oreo Magic, aka “Mabel,” is a 14.3 hand Registered Missouri Fox Trotting Horse born 3/30/2017.  Mabel is an own daughter of Southern Playboy and out of great lineage on her dam’s side as well, including War Eagle and Toddy’s Perfection.  As a result of ideal breeding, Mabel is an exceptionally naturally gaited mare.  Her gait is 100% natural and smooth.  Nothing mechanical, no special shoeing or bit required to have her gait consistently.  You don’t need to know anything about gaited horses to get a smooth ride from Mabel. In fact, you can put the reins down on her neck, and she will maintain her smooth gait without you guiding her- see videos!

Mabel is a beautiful Smokey Black and White Tobiano mare and beautifully marked with 4 socks, an Oreo cookie belt around her belly, and a solid black head.  This is a flashy, well-built, nicely muscled, strong mare you will be proud to ride.  She likely will mature to 15 hands.  She is well-fed, slick, and healthy, regularly wormed, shots, and her teeth done by a vet in August.

Mabel is a gentle, honest horse with exceptional sensibility and a lot of agility.  She is calm and quiet on cows, a trail machine that will take you out for a great ride and keep you comfortable all day.  She has been trail ridden in TN, GA, PA, SC.  You will not feel like you have ridden for hours after riding Mabel.  Mabel consistently stands still to mount- see videos.  She has been exposed to all kinds of obstacles, from tarps to teeter-totters to pool noodles to opening garage doors to anything we can think of- see videos!  This mare has been exposed to many obstacles in the ring and real obstacles on the trail, which is most important.  We have a lot of video footage demonstrating Mabel’s experience and talent and her training journey that can be found on this link with video titles that include Mabel:

This mare has exceptional ground manners for grooming, tacking, clipping, and bathing. She is well-behaved for the farrier and very safe to be around.  Both farriers (SC and PA-based) commented on the quality of her hoofs and her manners.  She is in your pocket and excels at Liberty work that translates to the trail- see videos!  Mabel has the potential to show in versatility classes and has been on different obstacle courses, and would excel in Cowboy Races/Trail Challenges.  Bridges, teeter-totters, side pass, back, two-track, handles knee high jumps well, cavaletti poles, etc.….  In the ring, she stays on the rail in prep for showing and is set up well in her training foundation on required gaits/speeds.  Her up and down transitions are easy, turns, square stops. She is well on her way to be a versatility horse.
