J-Boy

J-Boy is a very stocky built, 16hh, Golden Palomino Gelding. J-Boy has been used on a plantation for bird hunting and handling dogs. He has even pulled a cart a few times. He has been trail rode in multiple states from Michigan where he was ridden on the “Shore to Shore” ride and as far south as Alabama where he has worked dogs. We have had him on the Knott County ride last fall. J-Boy will walk but moves out easily, he is responsive to what the rider asks for. He has a very smooth 4-beat gait that your buns and back will certainly appreciate! I have used him around the farm to check calves and herd cows. As you can see in the video we have used him to lead horses off of and I have used him to hemp break colts to lead with. He has no issue being the leader and rides alone just fine as well. He is easy to catch, clip, bath, tack-up, load, and handle in anyway. He has been ridden around farm equipment and ATV’s. On the trails he is a perfect gentleman! He has been exposed to all kinds of wildlife such as deer or turkey or other animals like cows or dogs and will go anywhere that he is asked too. He has been rode many miles in the mountains of Eastern Kentucky and encountered every obstacle possible on the trail. He will go up or down even the steepest slopes, across deep creeks, over downed trees, and over all types of rough terrain while still being sure footed. He has been rode in traffic. He has a great personality and a great attitude about whatever he is asked to do. If youre looking for a big horse that will sure enough cover the ground in style then J is your boy!
