This gelding is a gorgeous registered Half Arabian AQHA cross, standing at 15 hands now. He just turned 3 years old on August 22. He is currently being started under the saddle with Peter Whitmore. Their first session together is in the video, as well as his first session under saddle. He has a solid foundation and excellent ground manners. He stands for saddling and mounting. He cross ties, bathes, picks up his feet, loads and travels well, respects electric fencing, and is easy to work with. He is UTD on everything-shots, Coggins, farrier, veterinary, and dentistry. One of the photos is of a camping trip in June during which he stayed behind in camp while the other horses went trail riding, and he handled the separation well and respected the quick fence paddock.
He grew up in a mixed herd of older mares and age mates with whom he played all day in a large pasture and learned to be a horse. He was led back and forth to his box stall AM and PM. He definitely loves chasing the yoga ball indoors and picks the tarp up in his teeth and shakes it. His personality is bold and inquisitive rather than spooky. He calmly allowed me to put a blanket on him his first night with us, and I learned later that he’d never worn a blanket before. The part of the video clip labeled “Pasture Play” was taken on his first day with us. I am impressed at his boldness as he immediately explored the far reaches of the pasture, showed his sense of humor and a bit of sauciness. Yet, his gentleness with people was apparent when I sat down, and he gently approached. I think that he will make someone a very nice horse who enjoys interacting. He will have been backed with a few weeks of saddle work at the time of the auction, ready to train your way. Also, he has grown from 14.3 to a solid 15HH in the four months he has been here. He still has his baby teeth and is still developing. He is not up for sale due to any fault or vice or failure to impress. Your inquiries are welcome.
