Festus is a 15 yr old John mule for your consideration. Festus is FANCY broke, a ball of fun to ride, and easy to get along with. He loves his job and knows it well! It doesn’t get too deep or steep for Festus.
Festus stands for mounting when asked, side passes, neck reigns, short lopes, and backs, and has a big stop when asked. He’ll ride off leg pressure and be a great mule to barrel race. Festus is forward riding, so I’d recommend an advanced beginner.
Festus tacks up well, unloads, loads, clips, picks up all four feet, and has great ground manners. He’s never offered to kick or any of that funny business. I’ve never shod him, so I can’t speak on that. He’s easy to get along with in the pasture, but you’ll need feed to catch him in the pasture.
I’ve trail ridden all over the countryside of Kentucky. You can ride him out with a large group of horses/mules or alone. He’s fine either way. Festus isn’t scared of anything on the trails, and I believe he’s seen it all. The trails don’t get too rough for him. He’ll go absolutely anywhere you point his head. If you’re looking for one COOL mule, look no further. Festus is your guy!
