Meet Eight Mile’s Miss Dixie. Dixie is a 15.1 hand, GAITED, registered, Pintaloosa mare. Miss Dixie is as unique on the inside, as she is on the outside! She is, to the International Pintaloosa Registry’s knowledge, the only GAITED Pintaloosa registered with the Registry. She would be an amazing horse to breed, and we would love to discuss that with her lucky new owner. She has a smooth comfortable gait, but her smart athletic nature enables her to excel at almost anything. She is well trained and is proficient in all the basic skills an enjoyable horse of any breed should have. She is gaited, but will also walk, trot, and canter on her correct leads. She clips, ties, loves a bath, will trailer and has had the best of care. She has been vaccinated, dewormed and shod, on a regular basis. She is an exceptional trail horse and will go anywhere. She will go out alone, in a group, in the front, behind, and will cross water. She is extremely sure-footed and careful. She is insanely smart, and absolutely has “Appytude”. She is not at all unsafe or dangerous in any way but wants a personal relationship with her rider. She always does her very best to excel at any task given to her, if her rider does the same. She has been used as a lesson horse for small children and beginners, in a structured environment, many times. We believe, that she would be happiest though, with a rider who has just reached the point of boredom with that priceless bomb-proof beginner horse we all try to start out with. Those of us who are lifelong horse enthusiasts, can all remember, and probably still brag about, that one special horse in our lives, who challenged us just enough, that once we established a bond, and rode exceptionally well on them, we were well and truly smitten with that life long incurable disease called horse sickness. There are truly no “perfect” horses. All horses are living breathing things, and as such, have their own unique personalities, that will mesh differently with their special humans. We hope that Miss Dixie will be all that and more for her lucky new owner! Do not hesitate to reach out to us with any questions you may have. It’s what we do! Happy Trails, from Eight Mile Ranch Colorado!
