“Fancy” is a beautiful, stocky, registered Missouri Fox Trotter mare standing at 14.3 hands tall when barefoot. She has good conformation, flashy looks, and a SILKY smooth gait that is so sought after and so hard to find. She never had to be trained to “finish her gait.” She was born with it! You will search long and hard for a trail mount that has her looks, gait, and speed. She can truly move on down the trail and maintain her gait with an amazingly comfortable, smooth, and quick ground-covering ride.
Fancy will ride with or without a bit and will even ride bareback. She has been on overnight camping and does well on a tie-line or stall. Fancy respects one strand electric fence. She pastures 24/7 in hilly terrain and is therefore ready for the trail whenever it’s time to ride. She will load and back out of a trailer. She will even back into a stall. She stands well for the farrier and vet.
She is an easy keeper, something the MFT breed is known for. She grazes pasture and grass hay and never needs grain. Fancy has been with the same family since she was purchased from the breeder as a halter broke 2 years old. She is not a horse that has been traded or run through a sale barn. Her sweet personality and calm disposition made it easy to finish her into a steady trail mount. Fancy has been trail-ridden in the mountainous terrain of Kentucky, and Tennessee and can maneuver all-natural trail obstacles, crosses water, logs, and bridges with ease, and is surefooted. Fancy has never bolted, bucked, reared, or kicked. She has always been around farm machinery, all-terrain vehicles, farm animals, and dogs.
Her owner no longer rides due to health reasons, and that’s the only reason I have been commissioned to sell this mare.
