Claudel is a 6 yr old gorgeous gelding, well-trained, exceptional smooth-gaited horse (you can ride his running walk all day, sipping your favorite beverage and not spill a drop) that can do it all. He can open/close gates, side pass left or right, back up straight, back up in small or large circles, and back up through figure eights; in other words, he understands moving away from pressure. He yields easily to lateral and vertical flexion. Will do a one-rein stop willingly. He neck reins superbly and will neck rein by the simple shifting of your weight at the walk, running walk, or at the canter. He has been thoroughly desensitized to ropes, buckets, tarps, gunshots, cans, cars, traffic, tractors, four-wheelers, golf carts, dogs, wild animals, etc.
Claudel carried the American Flag in the largest non-motorized two-hour parade in the world, the 98th annual “Fiesta de Vaqueros” parade in Tucson, Arizona. We rode almost 2000 miles through Southern Arizona’s most beautiful and challenging trails in the last seven months. He crosses any water, creeks, ponds, dams, or waterfalls. He’ll go over any bridge, suspended or otherwise. Claudel hobbles, front feet and/or side feet or both at the same time. On overnight trips, we hobble him, put out his hay, and go to sleep. He has no vices of any kind. He is easy to catch in a stall or open pasture. He knows the voice commands of a walk, trot (running walk), canter, and whoa.

Watch the cowboy dressage video, where I’m moving in circles in the opposite direction of where his head and eyes are looking. The same with the diagonals; his head and eyes are pointed in the opposite direction that his feet are moving! That’s really hard for a horse to learn and do. However, Claudel has been trained to be soft and supple, and he trusts its rider to the extent of going blindly in any direction desired. He has a unique heart shape star along with his stripe and snipe. He is beautiful with his Chocolate and White coloring, which is so rare! You can ride him alone, in a small or large group. His demeanor and manners never change, totally under the rider’s control at all times.
