Checkers is sweet, gentle, and 100% safe for any level rider. Checkers has spent his life as the go-to trail horse and countless long days bird hunting. This handsome boy is as GENTLE and EXPERIENCED as they come. He will go anywhere you ask him. He will cross water, logs, and ditches. He is good with gunfire, bullwhips, wildlife, dogs, mules, wagons, 4 wheelers, and traffic.
Checkers is very flashy and carries himself like a big horse with a beautiful headset. He has a wonderful lope with a smooth head shaking, ear flopping gait that you will enjoy riding all day long. Checkers has experience showing at weekend club shows and is just as good in the arena as he is outside. He has been used to drive up other horses and cattle out of the pasture. Checkers has been a big hit at pony parties; letting the children paint all over him, participating in relay games, and dragging the children on sleds. The loud noises and commotion don’t phase him, one bit!
Checkers is trustworthy and can be ridden out by himself or with a group of horses. He is very laid back and never gets hot. He can be ridden in the front or back of the group and is perfectly content. He can be ponied with no problem or will follow along with the other horses for those novice riders. His size is perfect, and he has no problem keeping up with the big horses. Checkers can be ridden bareback and double. He absolutely loves children! He is so patient with inexperienced young riders and is also fun for the adults to ride, too!
Checkers gets along great with other horses and is easy to catch in the pasture. He stands like a champ for saddling, mounting, grooming, bathing, and for the farrier. He has absolutely no meanness and no spook. He can be trusted and will be the exact same every time you get on him. Checkers has been routinely dewormed, vaccinated, routine teeth floating, and shoeing. With Christmas two weeks after the auction ends, we have some transportation options available depending on location.
We require the buyer to be PayPal or Venmo accessible to place a $2000 deposit immediately following the end of the auction. (No exception! Please find a friend or family member to aid in the deposit if not Paypal or Venmo accessible). We require the remaining balance to be wire transferred before the close of the following business day.
